Vaa did not begin with a drawing.

It began with videos that were watched again and again, drawn to the way the boat moved across the water, its proportions, and its quiet sense of speed.

At the time, there was no plan to build one. It was simply curiosity, and an admiration from a distance. That curiosity eventually led us to see the boat in person. Not to study how it was made, but to understand what it felt like as a finished form. To experience its scale, its weight, and its presence.

After that, life returned to normal, back to its familiar rhythm.

Yet some ideas do not disappear simply because we step away. Seven or eight years passed. Among other projects and other choices, the thought of building a VAA quietly stayed with us.

Until one day, it was no longer a question of feasibility, but an honest acknowledgment that this was something worth doing, no matter how long it took.

And with that decision, a new chapter begins.
